Windows Command Line Silent Option

Hi all. 

Shell is great, but on Windows when a shell call is made it shows a command window briefly. This has the effect of freaking end users right out of their minds. For all they know, hackers are breaking in and stealing all their secrets. 

Is there a way to run shell commands without that annoying window popping up? If not, I can submit a feature request, because without that shell on Windows is a complete no go.
