You might be able to use the native "busy" indicator on mobile, which 
doesn't interact with the stack content:

mobileBusyIndicatorStart
mobileBusyIndicatorStop

(There's a handler in the mobileControls library in SivaSiva that 
handles this for both desktop and mobile, actually.)
