Special character entry on Windows

Hi all,

I’m trying to answer a question on Stack Overflow, but my Windows knowledge is lacking in this area.

I thought you could enter accented characters and characters with diacriticals in LiveCode my using the standard Windows alt+numbers method. This doesn’t work for me in 8.1.0, however (the only version I have available to me on Windows at the moment.) Is this a bug? Does it work in earlier versions?
