Secure sockets problem... any update?

Hi All,

With all that went on in the LC conference, I was wondering if there was any update to the secure sockets problem I reported here:

Being unable to communicate securely via sockets using LC as both the client and the server is a roadblock for me, I am hoping something has changed.
