Unreproducible Linux weirdness [was: Release 8.0.0 RC 1]

RM is right, the user extensions directory is on linux not created by
default.
*But* this path is registered by default in the prefs and LC tries to look
into that directory.
So it could be, that missing this directory produces irritations.
RM, you could try to create that path in your home directory? May be it
helps.
