play vc xyz, still stuck in the 80s?

I agree that working with Multimedia in Livecode recently has been a struggle.  That is why I was reluctant to contribute to the 64-Bit Feature Exchange.  I just hope that the period we will have to suffer through between the time they remove multimedia support and when they put it back in is short.
