sane way to keep menubar on mac (and what about windows???)

THAT I didn’t know. Thanks! My projects tend to have a custom menu for each substack anyway, which is why I didn’t see it before.

On Windows, there is no such thing as a defaultMenuBar, since each window must have its own. If you don't put a menubar in a stack, there will be nothing there.
