Unfortunately, I’m probably almost as much out of my depth as you :-(

No, localhost shouldn’t matter if the app is trying to connect to a remote server. I don’t think that LiveCode needs to know about ipv6 either (or only at a very low level). My suggestion was based on ipv6 resolving localhost differently from ipv4.

Does the error message give the hostname that was considered to be an “invalid host address”?
