You only need to worry about that if you are loading all that data in a field. You might store it in a custom property, for example, and never know there was an issue at all. By the way, that might be useful for you, paging data in usable chunks as needed.
But it would be a helpful hint, I guess. Or learn the hard way, like you did. That is what I do. At least that method sticks, until I forget it, that is.

Even so it should be noted in the read
file that reading to the end of a file will
fail to provide you the info if the file has
more than 65,535 characters.

Variables have no limits, within memory, of course, but what you do with that
