I snipped the top part of your post, but I agree with all of it and I 
think you've presented a well-reasoned argument. The forum commenter is 
brusque and critical, but I do believe he really wants answers. Another 
thing that may influence new people is that last year there was a good 
uptake into the educational market, so there was quite a lot of focus 
there that might make people believe LiveCode is for kids or hobbyists.

I hope those with more commerically-oriented apps or in-house solutions 
will post on the forum in that thread, maybe talk a little about their 
work and why they chose LiveCode to do it. That's the first place new 
people will go to, and most of them will be making the same types of 
decisions about whether LiveCode can meet their needs. Hearing about 
solid, working examples can go a long way.

I actually agree with the poster that we can sound like defensive 
fanboys sometimes. If that's the perception, we lose credibility and 
anything we say can be easily denied. We can be proud of our 
accomplishments, but objective in why we chose the tool. There really 
are good reasons for it.
