OK - dashed that off in a hurry because I was (and still am) in the
middle of other things. I do the encoding by hand instead of handing
it off to a built-in routine. It's not too bad, and just involves
things like

replace "<" with "<" in tText

and if you're lucky that's that only transformation you need.
