What does "stack was produced by a newer version" mean?

I used to complain about all the release notes being in one document but
not any more! Thanks to Richard, for preserving the old ones.
Maybe I'm wrong but I think if you go to the Release Notes item of the help
menu, it will show you the release notes for whatever version you're
running?
