The easiest way around this is the wordiest:

getPropertyValues the long id of (word 1 of pitemname && word 2 of pitemname
&& "of group" && "TestControls")

but in general you would probably be better off using the id rather than the
abbreviated name. Since you're in a menuPick handler that might get awkward
too, unless you keep parallel lists or maintain an array or something.
