What is the way to replace frames on a website?

HTML5, aka divs + css + js on client side and revcgi or, best, lcserver (libs.livecode and scripts.lc). Nothing you could't do is this ways that could be better done in any other n-tiers environment (J2SE, PHP, RoR, Perl, etc...).
