[OT] Mac Beach Ball Party (or welcome to hell, here's your mac)

The 18 hour re-install and migration to another drive finally  restored my
machine to a 'normal' state with all hands on deck. No beachball anymore.
Life is good.  I described it a few posts back. thanks
