set tab widths on combo box

it's "gotchas" like this that have caused me to make my own custom
controls. One can make those work exactly for the task at hand.

here's a custom control I made back in 2007 in Revolution/Livecode.
Inspired by a Ken Ray presentation at Revcon 2.
