SQL Date Formatting

I think (I will be corrected if I am wrong) that it is a Canadian format. I don't think it is a mac specific problem. I went through all the date formats on the Mac OS and found that Canada is the only country listed that formats the dates this way. I also think it makes a lot more sense.
