pasting clipboard from Excel

I suspect the clipboard is a circle...

I have a new issue on this same challenge. If data in a cell has a rogue return character, Excel places quotes around the two lines. Numbers does better. I'm looking for that "don't wrap text no matter what" option in Excel.
