OT: Live Support Chat script/solution?

There's a gazillion of website chat thingies in free php or cgi library repositories. How reliable, bug ridden, spyware installing or useful the different ones are.... no idea.

There's a similar plethora of libraries for flash-based chats, but my 60 year old boss, who doesn't know the difference between http and ftp, told me that flash is dead and should never be considered anywhere ;)
