find by content with Mac OS

Hi Stephen,

As far as I know, Command-F and Spotlight invokes the same functionality.

In my previous message, I mentioned that find by content is not finding content in Safari Bookmarks, my saved email messages in Mail, and so on. This, I discovered by trial and error, and I assumed it was a "feature," i.e., intended by Apple.

OTOH, I'm aware of many complaints that Spotlight fails to index things it is supposed to index.

Also, recall that I wrote:

At the moment, this conversation is going sideways and I'm wasting everybody's time. Sorry about that. I'll force Spotlight to re-index and see what happens.

Apparently the list agrees that LC fields don't get indexed in find-by-content, and there's no simple answer for that. That is useful information, mildly frustrating.

Cheers,

Tim
