what is the secret to viewing revlets?

I have the plugin installed from here:

but if I try any content, nothing shows up, only the "test page for..." message at the top. This is with Safari, in either 32 or 64 bit, Mac OS 10.6.8. Even the runrev tutorial example shows a big white space where the revlet should be:

How do you get revlets to appear on a page?
