Using revIgniter with on-rev and multiple sites/domains

Hi folks,
When using revIgniter for on-rev, across multiple addon domains, where should the revIgniter files be installed? The revIgniter installation instructions state, at lines:

'2. Upload the revIgniter folders and files to your server. Normally the index.irev file will be at your root.'

'3. Open the application/config/config.irev file with a text editor and set your base URL.

The latter seems to imply a per-site implementation, so it seems that the 'root' cited in line 2 does not mean the docroot of mydomain at on-rev.com. So, do the revIgniter files go into the addon domain's docroot or webroot (public_html/)?
