OT: Waiting for DNS to update a new site.

Works here.

I notice that sometimes the DNS cache on my Mac needs to be flushed after a DNS change. If she's on a mac that might be the issue.

On OS X 10.5 and higher the shell command to do this is:

dscacheutil -flushcache
