Files in ios again

OK, still screwing with files in ios, which clearly I don't understand.

I am using    set the defaultFolder to specialFolderPath("Documents") -- ios
command

and then creating a file and saving to it.  I then have a button that I
click which reads the file again to ensure that I am actually writing
something to the file.

As soon as I exit the app using the home button in the simulator or on my
iphone, the contents of the file are gone for some reason.

Any suggestions?
