Hi,
i tried it now also over GSM/UMTS and it works also. Only the spinning "wheel" while downloading from the internet is not shown, regardless if doing the download over WLAN or GSM/UMTS.
Tested here now with an iPhone 3G and a 2G, both with the OS 3.1.3.
