Did you resize the image?
Sounds like the image resizes to its orginal dimensions after setting the filename or importing it (again).

In the "Inspector" palette -> "Size & position" check "Lock size and position" (lockloc) after you set the correct size of that image object.
That should fix it, if my presumption is correct ;-)
