drag and drop to desktop: destination unknown

When dragging an object from a LiveCode window to a folder in the 
desktop environment I've been unable to find a way to know the path to 
the destination.

I submitted a request for this here:

But it seems such a common need that I can't imagine I'm the only one 
who needs this.

What do you folks do to find the destination path?
