Best Practices Question

It doesn't sound as if you are a 'Dummy' at all;

surely a 'Dummy' wouldn't know what Globals
and Custom Properties are. Or, putting it
another way, I know at least one person
[err, myself] who has done many things without
ever having used either of the above.

I don't think either you, or many other people,
really need a "Rev for Dummies" book.

"good intermediate tutorial"

betrayed you  :)

I do think what is needed is a
"Rev for people carrying all sorts of confusing baggage over from
other programming languages and/or environments" book.

A "Best Practices" book sounds a bit clunky; surely we ALL need a
few pages on best practices - a list containing guidelines.
