Radio Buttons - Simple Question

I should know this and it should be easy to find in the documentation if I
don't but just how do you determine which radio button has been selected? 
I have a group of buttons and they "work" as a set of radio buttons but I
need to know which one is "on."

I searched the User's Manual and found references to putting buttons in a
group to make them radio buttons but nothing about how to read them.

This should have been easier to find.

I guess my mind is going in my old age.
