Tom, Don't know if this will help... but you could capture the icon using import (or export) snapshot, then, if you needed it to have a transparency channel, you could knock out the background using the scripts in altMakeTransparent stack at: http://www.altuit.com/webs/altuit2/RunRev/Downloads.htm HTH
