double mouseDown

Does anyone know how to check for a double mouseDown in a table field
that has the lock text set to true?

I want to check for it and then prevent the second mouseDown from  
sending
any message.  For some reason if I double click the script does not  
work as
intended.

Is it somehow starting the same script before the script finished  
executing
from the first mouseDown?  There are no global variables and the code
seem to be messing up variables that are contained within the script.
