Wasn't there a utility at one time called SCSI Tool? Seems to me it  
would unmount or remount any drive. Of course, that would mean that  
SS would have to be using SCSI emulation to access drives. Sorry, the  
cobwebs are pretty thick in that part of my brain... :-/
