Exchanging packets over Ethernet is likely to be a completely different 
animal than sending bits to a virtual serial device.

Specifically, I'm building aircraft cabin simulators using a PLC for the 
basic control and wishing to use Rev to design an instructors interface (and 
editor) on either a OSX or Windoze platform.  What I need to do is 
communicate bi-directionally with the PLC via Ethernet.
