If all this still hasn't fixed your problem, then try using a Custom  
Property instead. They are less tricky to set up then Globals.

Access it like this:

set the cpSaveInputPath of this stack to true

if  the cpSaveInputPath of this stack = true then

You may want to reset it in the preOpenStack handler, like so:

on preOpenStack
set the cpSaveInputPath of this stack to false
end preOpenStackl

You can then check it by looking in the Custom Properties panel of  
the Property Inspector.
