Hi from Paris,
This is not the first time I launch into this area. But I will continue
until you understand, because my time (and yours, I hope !) is precious
!
I go through this forum religiously, every day, hoping to pick up some
vital tit-bit of information which will make me BETTER. Some of you
guys make me feel like I am a beginner, but I am still eager to learn
(I obviously wasn't as good as I thought over my 40 years of
programming). Some of the subjects do not concern me in the slightest,
but then, this is part of the fun - scanning the different mails to
find the pearl which I personally can use, and make my programming that
much more efficient. And when I find it, I save it, and feel that the
day has brought me something positive. And I use it and thank
(sometimes by thought waves) the guy who gave me the idea. And I love
this forum !
HOWEVER, and I am not pointing any accusing fingers, and I am not
naming names, some participants, probably because they don't realize
what they are doing, sometimes take up 30, 40, even 50 percent of the
mail volume of the day, when they include ALL of their previous
exchanges in each mail - sometimes indenting to the seventh and even
eighth level. This includes their logos, their personal mail addresses,
their telephone numbers, and their life history, sometimes generating
more than 200 lines of repeated text, for an earth-shatteringl 1 line
message, such as "Yeah - this is so much fun when it works !"
Think about the others who have to plough through this rubbish to get
to the next message. Select WITH DISCRIMINATION, the text that you
think should be repeated.
And never forget, with a single keystroke on your computer, you can
send an ENORMOUS amount of b******t !
'Nuff Said !
-Francis
