Beep not working in 2.7.x and 2.8.x ????

Hi,

Well, beep doesn't beep! I have one button in a stack with the  
following script:

on mouseUp
beep
end mouseUp

when I hit the button, it doesn't beep! The same script works fine  
under 2.6.6.152.

I have only tried this on MacOS X and only under the IDE.
