Extract/Address Imported Sounds?

Anyone know if it's possible to export an imported sound from a stack to an
external file?  I've searched the mail archives without finding a solution.
I know it's possible to do this with images but with sounds?

On a related note, is it possible to link a player to an imported sound,
rather than external file?
