what's wrong with the shell ?

try using the following extra step

>> on mouseUp 
put (field "outPut") into cmd
>> get shell(cmd) 
>> put it into field "outPut"
>> end mouseUp 

and set the debug checkpoint to 'get shell(cmd)' then observe the variable
cmd.  Perhaps the answer will appear to you.
