Hi All
I have been advised to contact yourselves for assistance in this matter. I have recently purchased the enterprise edition of Revolution and trying hard to get to grips with scripting. I feel that I am making progress, but my main area of concern is working with a database.
Can I be so bold as to ask someone to write a very short program for me so that I can see how all this scripting is put into place. An ideal example would be for a personal record (Name, Address & Telephone) created using Microsoft Access, and then Revolution used to add new records to the database. Revolution used to search for a particular record and Revolution used to edit an existing record. These routines would clearly assist me in how these basic scripts are put together.
I have tried to use the Database Query Builder, but have only been successful in moving through the database. Failing to update or even add new records.
I have recently purchased the altSQLite routine from Altuit in order to achieve the above. I was beginning to get somewhere, but then when I installed the latest version of Revolution, this only completely froze my computer when I attempted to run a program which worked perfectly on the previous version of Revolution. Unfortunately, Revolution and scripting is so new to me that I have yet to build any experience or competence, that I am unable to fathom out why this particular problem occurred, just by purely upgrading to a newer version.
I hope that I am not being 'too cheaky' to ask for this type of assistance. But I do know that once I can have a good understanding of the basics, I will be able to progress further by experimenting.
I thank you all for taking time out to read this, and even more of a thank you to those who respond in order to give a new user a step up in the revolution field of programming.
Best Regards
Steve Lucas
