DB acces via CGI on OS X

Is anyone here using the rev database commands with mysql and a CGI in 
OS X? I have a question in the tech support queue I can't answer. 
Basically I need to know how you set up the database driver and whether 
the "rev"-specific commands will work, or whether you need to use some 
other method to communicate with mysql.
