calculating vscroll

Yes, this works just fine.  Thank you.  It wasn't working for me  
because I was trying to set the vscroll, and was doing it  
incorrectly, after setting the hilitedLine.  After commenting out the  
line that was setting the vscroll, it scrolled to the selected line  
like it should.
