Another Mystery

I've dug deeper and I reckon it's because another stack window which 
is invisible is in front of the current window.

I call a function in a global stack which loads externals and this 
creates a temp stack and does:

go stack "newstack"
start using stack "newstack"

If I take out this call all works ok.

Is there anyway to make the current stack the frontmost? Or should I 
not be doing the go stack?
