I just realized that they put this support into MPlayer.  I have a 
enhancement request:
<http://support.runrev.com/bugdatabase/show_bug.cgi?id=2290>
that would really help all Linux users that require modern multimedia 
support.

You might think about tossing some of your voting weight on this one.
