8 Bit Masks?

I know of no workaround, but would add my vote to a Bugzilla request.

I hate to rain on Jobs' parade, but really it would indeed be trivial
for Rev to deliver all of Tiger's precious "widgets" on 13 platforms if
we had this -- and months before Tiger ships. ;)
