Is it "wrong" to try and get or set the defaultstack inside a setProp or getProp?

Just trying this out. I've run into problems setting or getting the 
default stack inside of setProp or getProp handlers.

For example.

If I call a getProp handler:

Put the myProp of the control with the script

Where:	
getProp myProp
  	 Put the defaultstack
end myProp


I get an empty value.

Anyone know if this is normal?
