Preferences files

Hello Revo's,

Can anyone help me with this?
I want to save a bookmark preferences file in my revised CD project.
So far I know I can't save in my CD stack - it is meant to run right 
from the CD.
If I ask the user to save a Pref file somewhere on their machine then 
what is the best way to get that file loaded next time they run the CD?
The CD is meant for cross-platform distribution.
