Change alphaData More Than Once?

I have had trouble getting the height, width, formatedHeight and 
formatedWidth all right in the past.  Setting the text of an image will 
"clear" it.  I haven't looked at the stacks, so I'm just babbling, 
hoping I mention something useful.
