I know of a Web Objects project that failed because the learning curve 
was too steep: Java programming in a complex web app environment.

Web Objects used to be Objective-C. Apple dissed a lot of users when 
they rewrote Web Objects in Java. Many legacy Obj-C WO sites probably 
still exist.

But if you can get over the learning curve, and be confident Apple is 
not going to rewrite it again, then Web Objects is sure powerful for 
complex business apps.
