a function for custom properties

i wrote a function for custom properties,
then some how lost it.

all my custom props are prec4ded by "u":
uNote, uBeat, etc.

something like:

function u pParam
  return value("the u" & pParam && "of this
stack"
end u

or

return value("the u" & pParam && "of this stack")

was working, honest!

after an hour, i am stuck.
any ideas?
