Special Char Suggestions?

I'm now scripting SDB to resolve field references at runtime.  It 
turns out it doesn't appear to matter what special character I use 
here: the Editor returns syntax errors when applying a handler that 
includes any of the characters I would have chosen in an unquoted 
string.
